IP Rights Enforcement Project Advisory Group
To ensure that the reform models respond to the
needs of the IP community, ISDLS is organizing an Advisory Group
to advise and direct the criminal and civil reform efforts over
the next 18 months. The Advisory Group will be responsible for
reviewing the progress of the project, collaborating directly
with Indian High Court IPR Enforcement Reform Committees, and
making strategic decisions regarding the following IP rights enforcement
topics:
- Education: curriculum for the training of
judges, police and prosecutors on IP rights enforcement models;
- Court Processes: assistance in the design
of fast track processes to expeditiously resolve civil and criminal
IPR disputes; and
- Institution Building: development of special
police and prosecutorial IP units, special IP judicial panels
and private mediation centers to resolve civil IP disputes.
Immediately after the High Court visits, the ISDLS Advisory Group
will construct a plan for implementation. ISDLS will launch the
plan through its offices in India, provide regular status reports
to the Advisory Group, and confer regularly with the Advisory
Group and its designatees in India.
